In my current position as the Head of the Internal Audit Department, I played an integral role in planning and setting up the Internal Audit Department of the organization in four different locations of India: a head office in Pune and branch offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. I currently manage a team of Internal Audit staff members, with 32 direct reports distributed throughout each of these offices. As the Head of the Internal Audit Department, I am responsible for business development, from review of market opportunity to business presentation to prospective clients and to submission of business proposals. Through routine service line activity, including Internal Audit, SOX and various Consulting assignments, I am responsible for framing internal audit guidelines, audit planning, coordinating with clients, resource allocation, ensuring smooth execution of the audit plan by the audit team, reviewing work performed by the audit team, and presenting final deliverables to the Top Management/Audit Committee of the client. Besides business development and service line activities, I am also responsible for various Human Resource activities, specifically relating to framing HR policies, accreditation and training of staff members, and recruitment of audit staff. I have also previously been employed with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, India as an Assistant Manager. Through Deloitte, I worked on site in Singapore, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka implementing Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act for Unilever. In addition to my experience at Unilever, I have significant experience in independently working with clients spread throughout diversified sectors of the financial industry.
