An open cast copper/cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has a contract vacancy for a Metallurgical Manager with extensive experience. The salary will be competitive with a person of the right level of experience and competence fully taxable with the potential to earn the same again in terms of a bonus.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Metallurgical Degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in the mining industry
· Very good copper and cobalt gravity and hydrometallurgy experience
· Knowledge of gravity separation plants such as DMS, spirals etc.
· Running and optimising a 50tph DMS plant
· Running a laboratory analysing 2000+ samples per day
· Installing spirals plants
· Installation and project management of an additional 150tph DMS plant and 4 spiral plants
· Design, and management of project to install a 60ktpa Cu plant and 38ktpa Cobalt hydroxy plant and a stream for Co metal
· Managing all met activities on site including sampling, assaying, management of dispatch of product, building of team
