BJUSMB/SD 0810235 -- Looking for a new challenge? This organisation are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated and well organised person to join a busy and expanding department. The successful candidate should have experience in CT. They are based within walking distance of the city centre. There is all excellent remuneration packages available and discounted membership for a private leisure centre.
Responsibilities:
• Possesses knowledge of state of the art CT techniques and is capable of performing diagnostic CT scans as needed.
• Willingness to learn and an ability to adapt to non clinical situations
• Performs advanced computer based CT/PET procedures on experimental models with the CRVB/ Biological Services Unit -University College Cork
• Procedures include CT and PET/CT acquisition using radiopharmaceuticals
• Image reconstruction and display scanner calibration region of interest analysis
• Computer data transfer and archiving and operation of ancillary PET laboratory
equipment to study organ perfusion, regional interest analysis, segmentation analysis and more.
• Responsible for executing and modifying standard operating procedures, documents that can be adopted by team to ensure good practices are kept in the facility.

• Performs non standard PET imaging in accordance with the specialized protocols
developed for this purpose
• The post involves a high level of communication with the team within the Centre and the Radiation Protection Advisor and the Services Manager.
• The Specialist Radiographer has a key role in dealing with representatives and visitors to the PET/CT Facility.
• To promote a safe environment for staff working in the area and assist in the development and implementation of risk management and health and safety strategies in association with appropriate personnel.
• To support the Team in the implementation of Research Protocols.
• To investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with policy and in relation to complaints accidents and incidents and damage to equipment
• Care of Equipment - Be responsible for and take care of all equipment including auxiliary equipment observing strict infection control procedures
Requirements:
• BSc Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
• Validation with Irish Institute of Radiography (IIR)
• Ideally 5 years post graduate experience
• Post Graduate qualification in Radionuclide Imaging (Essential)
• Strong experience in CT ( Essential)
• Experience in PET (Desirable)
